Tamora Pierce herself has posted some useful advice about getting published at her livejournal. Clearly, she knows what she's talking about!
Also on Tammy's livejournal, she's posted the latest cover art for the trade paperback of Terrier as well as Bloodhound, which will chronicle more of Beka Cooper's adventures. You'll see that cover art on the books when they're published in the spring of 2009, about three Icefall issues from now.
While you're waiting for Bloodhound, why not reread some of Tammy's other books and write something for the Tamora Pierce Wiki? They're currently looking for contributors.
Finally, some of the finest creations and discussions in fandom can be found at The Swoop, a livejournal community founded by Lan, who's also co-editor-in-chief of Icefall. You can find top-quality, TP-related inspiration, recommendations, debates, thought-provoking topics, and much more - members are currently working on a round-robin fanfiction piece. Go check it out!
